Transform in Z

Hello

 

What I have is a slitting saw cutting some heating fins on a part (2 passes per fin). I am hoping there is a way to transform the toolpath in the z direction for the rest of them? As far as I can tell transform only has X+Y options. It is going to suck to have to create a separate opperation for each fin.

add depth cuts

I a use depth cuts to get the correct thickness of slot. It is wider than my slitting saw so I need 2 depth cut passes at .0694". Then I need to drop down .315" and repeat it.

Assuming you're using a single line for the fin geo you could transform the line down as many times as you need to and just do 'Add Chain' a bunch of times; should give you your one op. You could also make it a sub and just do the old manual edit

I already got Eric going but thought I would let the rest of you know what I did.

 

In opp manager,

 

Select the operation, right click , toolpath transform, set "type" to translate, click on ther translate tab, between points, set the number of steps, and set the "from point - to point" fields accordingly, click o.k. and your done.
