It was worth for the help brother............ I didn't have problems in Win Server 2003.

The problems began when I installed SP1 WIN SERVER 2003 before that everything worked perfect.

I already uninstalled and I reinstalled MasterCam vary times and it doesn't advance the problem continues

Is your hasp recognized? (Check this with the Hasp 9 Utility)

If you have a Net Hasp it will be red. (Check this type with the Nhasp9 Utility)

If not then perhaps the sim drivers are not installed, try installing them as Steve suggests.

Have you disabled any/all virus scanning software before install/reinstall?

Edson,

I believe Bullines may be on to something with his reply.

quote:

Why in the world are you running Mastercam on Windows Server

Mastercam may not run on this O/S. We haven't tested Win 2003 Server. The O/S of choice for Mastercam is now Win XP Pro. For Mcam X, when it is released, it will only run on Win XP Pro or Win 2K Pro. All other O/S's will not be supported for use with Mcam. AFAIK, the Win 2003 Server O/S is strictly designed for office networking, not stand-alone engineering applications. I would install Mcam on a different computer using a supported O/S like Win XP or Win 2K Pro. Move the HASP device to the computer you re-installed Mcam on and try it. HTH cheers.gif

I would uninstall the current drivers, load up the latest drivers (according Aladdin, Win2k3 is supported) from here and then run Hasp9 or Nhasp9, like Allan mentioned, to make sure that the HASP is detected. Also, in the shortcut that you use to launch Mastercam, make sure that there aren't any compatibility modes set...especially Windows 95, 98 or ME.

Thank you for the observation friend........ really the gilberto passed a link for SERVER 2003 X64 and the one that use is x32.

And one more thing that I discovered is that the version that works with MASTERCAM 9.1 is WIN SERVER 2003 STANDART.

To have certainty of the problem I decided to format the computer and to install WIN SERVER again 2003 ENTERPRISE without SP1.

I installed MASTERCAM 9.1 and his/her SP2 without problems.

But when opening MASTERCAM 9.1 none of the. exe work.

But in WIN SERVER 2003 STANDART everything in MASTERCAM 9.1 works perfect.

If somebody has innovations post me........ who knows didn't solve that problem here in the forum.

I hug all that tried and they continue trying to help

Alright I was able to fix the problem, just so if anyone else has issues after a clean install of Windows XP SP2 the problem arises from DEP (Data Execution Prevention) a new feature for XP SP2, Aladdin was nice enough to send me a workaround to get the Dongle Driver install correctly.

Regarding your question, compatibility with SP2:

The workaround is to change the boot.ini by:

1. Open Windows Explorer and go to C:

2. Choose Folder Options from the Tools menu.

3. In the View tab, uncheck "Hide protected operation system files

(recommended)" and click OK.

4. Now you'll see in C: the file 'boot.ini'. Right click on it and choose

Properties. Uncheck the Read-only attribute and click OK.

5. Open the boot.ini file in Notepad and change the "/noexecute=OptIn" to

"/noexecute=AlwaysOff". Save the file.

6. Restart the machine.

7. Install the HASP driver.

8. Open Windows Explorer and go to C:

9. Choose Folder Options from the Tools menu.

10. In the View tab, check "Hide protected operation system files

(recommended)" and click OK
