I have seen this today in a customer PC.
The problem was a .MMD-6 that did not exist...
Check the "Mastercam event log" in the task bar.
It shows what file is causing the problem.
We have developed a chook to PLOT PDF files.
The difference is that you can specify the 'pen width' for each color and also for dimension notes, and circles are perfect circles(not converted to lines during print)
Unfortunately its not free...
We have a prospect that wants to program a saw(works like a guilhotine)
machine is an "Homag Optimat".
We have found that we can do the nesting with "guilhotine" style.
Now we need to generate the cuts.
Fist Horizontal, then all SUB-verticals for that cut.
Next Horizontal, then all SUB-verticals for that cut.
Do you program this machines manualy or automaticaly?
rdkllkng,
We install the Sketch Parametric chook in all our customers and never had such strange stories...
If you want, send me a sample geometry and will tell you if the Sketch Parametric chook can help in your work.

rdkllkng,
Please email me with the contact person that told you that strange horror story.
I would like to personally check that story...
nofalloff,
Can you elaborate on your (tangent, tangent, tangent) request?
quote:
Cool I gotta alot of things to try now. Where would someone get the sketch parametric c-hook?
Ask your resseler.
We can provide test codes, but only going thru a local resseler.

- Edits chains and maintains chain continuity. (can be used in Solids and Toolpaths)
- 8 options to common editing tasks ( Edit Fillet Radius, Edit Parallel Line Distance, Edit Line Length, Edit Line XY Ordinate, Edit Vertex Point, Move Selected entities, etc.)
- Works in any Cplane and Z depth
- Changes automatically propagate to entities on the same chain.
(all entities on the same chain must be on same color/level)
- Analyze Dimensions, show points if there are chain gaps or duplicate entities
- can link to ASCII text tables
Mick,
In v9 we use Browse to test computers stability.
We leave 4 Mastercam sessions doing browsing all night.
Just missing 2 features in your NetHOOK:
- keep looping when last geometry is reached
- set the delay value
Thanks
4min 52sec for the Metric part.
Not entering any pissing contest here, just setting a ref. point for Metric users.
Parameters and tools are different in the Metric part.
Using same part and Hardware, Mastercam config tolerances may still affect the results...
We also had the surface finish problem on a few mold customers.
To have a better finish parts with Mastercam,
Cut with 0.001mm tolerance and NO Filter.
This fixed the problem.
Check cimco.com and camaix.com.
We have developed a few applications for local users to do similar things... but not exactly the same.
Basically store all needed programs for a Job in one sub-directory and have each program include that sub-directory in its file name.
ex:
c:cnc -- main dir
c:cncPART123 -- Job dir for PART123
c:cncPART123PART123-0.iso -- Job PART123 main prog.
c:cncPART123PART123-1.iso -- Job PART123 sub prog. 1
The DNC programs know this rule, and retreaves the main and subs automatically from the directory structure.
We have another team developing "OrganiMold", to automatically manage mold shops/Jobs,Project planning, Bills of Materials changes, Costs, and all the information nightmare.

It works without .ACC codes the functionality is limited...
Please note that we can generate 30 days trial codes, but we need you reseller name and your SIM Number.
we had this problems a few years ago.
editing post variable "arccheck" fixed it.
METRIC VALUES
arccheck : 1 #Check for small arcs, convert to linear
ltol : 0.1 #Length tolerance for arccheck
You dont need to set the afinity in "true dual processors" as Core2 Duo or old MB with 2 processors.
Try this, as an example:
- make a toolpath that takes 10min to process.
- Open 2 Mastercam's and make the same toolpath that on both sessions.
It takes the same 10min to process 2 tasks.
If you only have one processor it takes 20min.
Seting afinity will NOT change this.
Finally Intel as a processor faster then AMD doing complex math (toolpaths, convert surfs.to solids)
We have tested it last week with ASUS MB and its very good.
Recomended Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4GHz)
