sawing speeds and feeds for 1010?

Hello,

I need a little help to find speeds and feeds for slotting with a saw in 1010 hrs. The blade is 1/32 thick and 3" dia. 32 teeth, staggered side cutting, .200 depth for one operation and .380 for another. I was going to subroutine so that I was only taking about .05 to .1 per pass. Any suggestions from the great wisdom that is shared on this forum would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

AJ

are you using a carbide tiped and how many parts are you going to be making. I would start at 150 rpm with carbid and .05 depth at 4ipm. if you only have a few parts to run let the machinest make the minor adjustment then get back to you for future referance. run it slower if you are using a hss cutter

I agree with "tooling"

If you already have the 3" cutter

If you could try a solid blade with no stagger.Feed in slow until at least three teeth are cutting. As soon as three teeth are in stock it will fill up the slot, full with the blade, this will keep the blade from chattering. Also do not feed out ,finish the cut stop the spindle and remove from part this will save voluble time per part.

Good Luck
