MCX Solid creation

Anyone having problems with solid creations in X?

Propably a brain fart, but any help is appreciated.

 

#1 reversing direction does not reverse arrow (but makes correct solid)

 

#2 if I click on geo to add or edit something, solid chain manager is blank

 

#3 when extruding a cut thru all it doesn't do it (warning about disjoin body) even though I'm doing it exatcly the same way as in V9

Mark,when i got to play with it at my re sellers,i had the same problem with reversing the solid chain...

Brendan, it does the right thing though. If you click on reverse it'll go the opp. side of what you see.

Now what about blank solid chain manager?

I tried to add a chain (hole) and I could not

O'k, no matter what I do solid chain manager stays blank

Can anyone create a primitive solid, or circle/extrude to see if it works?

I think I did what you want. Success on both accounts. The small one was a primitive and the large one was extruded from the arc shown

Is solid chain manager blank, or can you see a chain in it?

There's no chain in the primitive solid (never was) but the large extruded solid shows a "base chain" in the solid chain manager.

There you go, mine solid chain manager is blanked

I'm glad it's just me and not the whole MCX solids thing...

I've created several solids (not primitives) over the last few days and everytime solid chain manager is blanked out. Luckily I have some time on my hands at work so I can do some parts for practice but I expected to move along quickly and not get stuck on a friking solid chain manager

So is there a setting somewhere, do I need to reinstall MC or what ?

Yep. When I select reverse direction in the solids parameter box the arrow doesn't move but the solid comes out correct. Good observation, Mark.

 

Also, I seem to be having trouble with Cut Body/Extend through all.

 

But I haven't had much time in X yet so who knows maybe I'm missing something.

Mark, I did a cut body/extend through all just now at work with no problems, yet it doesn't work at home on my design seat. Extrude direction arrows won't reverse either, although the solid extrudes in the correct direction.

Even if CNC is aware of this thread, (I believe)

they will ask you to send a bug notice to

[email protected] re: the non-reversing arrows.
