Circlmill toolpath

When trying to use circmill or helix bore toolpath, hole dia defaults to 1.0 which is greyed out so there is no way to change it.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Even in op defaults this field is greyed out and set at 1.0"

I did not realize you were refering to Mastercam X, although that is what I have to do in 8 and I believe 9 also, if I remember correctly. Hope X isn't that different. Waiting for the powers that be to sign the PO for X.....can't wait.

That's what I'm doing, exactly as in V9.

In the control definition file, arcs, check to see if helix support is activated.

Checked many times, all settings look good...

It makes 1.000" dia arc and won't let me change this either on helix bore or circle mill

Just found what's wrong here.

When selecting points for those toolpaths (circmill and helix bore) you can't pick points created automaticly at center of arcs or fillets (little dots).

Any reasoning behind this CNC Software?

I would assume that's because you are not selecting a "true" point entity,and the automatic point that is there represents the circle itself.

Is the circle a 1" dia by chance?

I'm getting the same thing. When selecting a "snap to centre" type point I have no control over the diameter. The funny thing is that the diameter that the toolpath wan'ts to use isn't related to the tool size or the arc size in any way.

When I try to snap to circle center point it uses the circle diameter for toolpath which is uneditable.If I snap to points it allows me to edit on circmill or helix bore parameters page but is applied to all points selected.

 

I would assume it is uneditable if you pick circle center point because you can pick different diameter circles for the same toolpath.

No, the weird thing is the cir dia is .500"

Sent an e-mail to qc, will see what happens.
