Changing posts in "X'

Does anyone know the correct procedure for changing posts in mastercam x? Also, do I need to make a new machine profile to do this?

No, go to the control definition to switch it. If it doesn't come up on the drop down list, hit the post processor button and add it. it must match the criteria though. ie, you can't select a 3 ax post for a 4ax machine def.

In the Operation Menu under the machine profile open the file tab. Click on the Replace Button under the Toolpath Copy heading. Then choose the new machine definition you want to use. You are better off changing it this way, if you change only the post under the control definition, it always saves the post to that Control.

that is the way to change the machine definition, but i understood he only wanted to change the post. and keep the same machine def.

I could have misunderstood! I was having trouble changing the machine def in my files. It was simple to change posts in V9, and it confused me for a little while in X.
