Converting autocad files

I can only convert one autocad file per mc start up. If I try to conv a second file mc alarms out and shuts down. When I open mc again Ican conv a file no problem. I am opening them as trimmed surfs. Doesn't happen converting anyother type of files. This is in mc9. Any help.

What version of v-9 Mastercam?

Unfortunately (for you) this is a known problem in V9, involving AutoCAD files, but only those that contain solids. There's no real work around either, other than making sure to shut down Mastercam in between.

This might or might not help, but it has been corrected in X. If you get updated to X, you could read them in there and save the geometry to an MC9 file and then open that in V9.

To do what you want, you only need to learn File/Open and File/SaveAs.

But maybe then you'll be hooked....

X looks like a great setup. I am a farily new mc user so I have a lot to learn anyway. Looking forward to having time to check it out.
