Work Coordinates

Recommended Posts

I am milling a part that is cylindrical. I am using a 4th axis for the rotation. I have to create a new T-Plane for every flat on the part. Whenever I post the program using a custom post I have, it keeps assigning a different work coordinate for every flat. Here is the part of program I am talking about.

N269 G54 X1.6025 Y-.2836 Z2.6693 A6.008

N270 G1 Z2.4443 F15.

After milling the pocket out it has to index to the next position, and I get this.

N484 G55 X2.4365 Y-.2836 Z2.6693 A12.016

N485 G1 Z2.4443.

It keeps changing my G54 to G55, then to G56, and so on. Any ideas????

Couple of ways to deal with this.

On your tool parameters page go into misc values,

see if the option "lock on First WCS is available"

It may be greyed out, click the auotmatically set post values box on the bottom if it is greyed out. If this option is not avaliable go into you work plave and set all you work offsets to zero.

It'll bark an error about other tools using the 0 offset but it will post OK

Yes you are if it is not there then that option is probably not available with your post.

Use the setting the WCS option in the planes tab

Slepydremr offered a quick way of hitting the same thing.
