g-code files from 9 to 10 varies

I ran my post throught the update utility for version 10 and I'm comparing the nc files from version 9 to 10 and I'm getting some variation from program to program. Anywhere from .002mm to 1.7mm got any idea's what I have missed?

Are you comparing roughing cycles where the tolerance of the toolpath could be different between V9 abd VX. Have you tried a finishing path that should be alot tighter?

You are right John it is a roughing cycle I'll try a finish pass now.

Try changing NC precision in control definition to .00001" or .0001mm

anyone out there having to do something different on M00 before tool?? It acts up only when opening a ver9 in X and posting from X. Is there something I can do about portability in my X post?

yep you were right the finish pass is dead on. thanks just started from the beginning and noticed differences.

Are you using canned text to get it in there?

 

If you are you might want to check in your V9 file and see where it is supposed to insert the canned text line, before, with or after and verify that in X it is set to position in the same place.

O.k. everything works great for 3 axis work but when I do a 5 axis path the positions are all wrong and this is a post that I ran through the update utility for X.

Some mapping methods that worked one way in V9 may not work the same way in X. In particular, if your post has

 

rotaxtyp$ = 4

 

you may need an update.

I couldn't tell you who wrote this post originally it was here when I started work here and I added some stuff to it for my liking. I am assuming it has some age on it, but it works pretty good for version 9.1. May just have to spring for an updated version 10 post.
