Fadal post & rotary axis

Hi anyone out there ! smile.gif

Seached WWW to find information and found emastercam.com. Maybe someone can help me?

We are using Mastercam Mill 7 and Fadal VMC-s with rotary tables. Today I tried to post rotary4ax toolpath (for the first time), but ...nothing happened, ie. it posted just the beginning and end of NC file, but no motions. In Mastercam all seems to be fine, backplot works and shows the motions as expected.

Is there a chance that the problem is in post processor ?

We have a modified Fadal post, so I thougt maybe it is the problem, but then I tried the one on MC7 CD too and yet nothing better happened. Then I tried a fanuc post from CD and it did something, well, not correctly I think, but it did something, at least. But Fadal post does nothing. I have understood that it doesn't suppport 5 axis, but it should support rotary axis...or what?

Everything is ok with Mastercam.the problem is with your post processor.

if you know how to work with post processors, try to find where the problem,or just download the fanuc mpmaster post processor, and modify it to your needs.

If you don't know how to do that, the best thing to do is to contact your Mastercam dealer in your area, and i'm sure he'll be happy to assist you.

Good luck! smile.gif

To cadcam:

I downloaded your post from ftp.ppcadcam.com/.../fadalv7 post.zip - Correct ?) and used it. It gave me an error message as follows:

'getnextop' should be set to 'yes'

Postblock label psof

Program execution halted due to error(s) running.pst

Well, I don't know anything about modifying posts (started to learn yesterday :-) ), but just to give a try I copied a line I found from original post (getnextop : yes # Scan ahead to get the next operation)to your post (mpfadc.pst), just to see what happens :-).

Well, nothing special happened, ie. I got rid of error message, but it posted me an NC file without 'body', ie. motions. Just like with original post.

To be sure I wrote toolpath correctly, I used the sample exercise for rotary4ax (from MC CD, rot4axm.mc7) and did all as told in Additional Help/FAQ/Multiaxis guide. Yet the same result.
