how to set the following parameter:

 

lead/log angle and tilt angle under tool control parameter in 5 axis multisurface.

To set it, you type a value into the field...

 

What do they mean? Tilt is a side to side vector adjustment from the normal, with respect to the direction of cut. Lead/lag is a front and back vector adjustment from the normal, with respect to the direction of cut.

i know its meanings, but i don't know what time to use, or what environment to use. thank you.

I typically use lead to keep the back of the tool off the floor so it doesn't drag .

This is useful when finishing thin floors prone to chatter.

Tilt is useful if you want to finish a fillet

at the intersection of a floor and wall.

You want to machine the fillet, but don't want the tool dragging on the wall. A little tilt and a ball endmill can do that.

I can't think of a situation where you'd want to lag a tool, but I'm sure someone here can give an example.

Lag is good for undercuts.

 

I use these parameters to make sure I am not using the tip of a ballnose to finish the surface. 15 degrees lead or tilt seems to work best.
