Invisible Solids

Has anyone else had a problem with solids becoming invisible to MCX MR1? What I mean is if I want to analyze, translate, mirror, etc... it won't unless I screen regen just before. Screen statistics also will not show it.

Just to be sure, do you do have the Mastercam Solids add on package? If not the manipulation of solids in mastercam is no longer supported in version X without adding the solids package. You can however bring solids in as a parasolid, in the file open, files of type box, pick parasolids, pick the option box beside file type parasolid, and choose to bring the solid in as a trimmed surface, you can then manipulste the surfaces.

Yes we have solids. It does help if I bring it in as a parasolid as opposed to solid edge which it is designed in. So maybe it has to do with the solid edge converter that was upgraded in MR1.

I'm puzzled as to what you're seeing and I can't understand why the Parasolid and SolidEdge files would work differently.

Can you send me ([email protected]) a pair of .PAR and .X_T files to see if I can find out what's happening?

Can you give me some help with what I would need to do to see the problem you're having? I'd like to try to duplicate what you're seeing. At what point does the imported solid become invisible?

It seems to happen after I have put a tool path on it.

Sorry - I can't reproduce it here. I opened the .PAR file, put several toolpaths on it (surface, 2d contour, drilling, etc). Backplot & Verify don't seem to cause it.

Can you pinpoint the steps I meant need to take to make it happen?

Anyone else seeing/seen this problem?

Ive seen this in V9 before, or at least a simuliar prob.

What does your PC config look like???

Pete had me disable the hardware acceleration box and it seems to have fixed it for now. Thanks for the input.
