Hi all smile.gif . I have mc 8.1 level 2 and I am machining a single surface. When I post the file all the movements are little straight lines. It looks Ok when I run the part but I would like to find a way to speed it up. Is there a way to get it to post with arks? Thanks for your help.

also make sure that your cut angle is one of the following 0,90,180,270 MC will only generate arcs if you are cutting parallel to X or Y also your CNC control may provide a look ahead feature check the manual on how to use it it may be called feed forward or accelerated processing.

Thanks for your info. I am useing a HAAS VF3. I think that you may be right about the problem being with my control. I have got the pgm. using arks and it is quite a bit better but the machine still is a little jerky like the control can not keep up with the feed. I am machining nc proofboard so the faster I can feed the better.

Thanks again.

bogusmill ,

You are right but this is on the newer machines i think with in the last year.

Jean was telling me about this and said most of the software add-ons can be tried for a short periad of time.

Now Eric Sman,

What is the Feed rates that you are running at say over 50 to 60 imp?

If so and you do not have the High-speed actavated this could be the main problem.

The machine that I have is only a little over a year old and it is capable of high speed machining (but I have not yet realy needed it). I am going to be milling a material called NC Proofboard (it is like a dense styrofoam) so my feeds are going to be high, say about 400ipm. When I run a part the tool does not go as fast as the feed says. Only on the long straits, which there are not many on my surface. My cutter only wants to drag race not take corners!
