In-House HTML Setup sheet program

I'm trying to demo the In-House HTML Setup sheet program.

I run the install and follow all the instructions.

When I go generate a setup sheet,

I get the message "Installation Problem - Program will exit".

The title of the message box is "MP".

Any insights from In-House?

Everything is where it is supposed to be.

I'd love to try this add-in but the setup is pretty weak.

It should work if you follow the directions.

That's the whole point of a setup program.

I have noticed when I opened the html SET file that the version number in postline #1999 is 9 instead 10. It also says not to modify it manually.

SAIPEM,

Per the instructions did you

quote:

1. Run the .exe file to install to your root Mastercam directory

(e.g. C:Mcamx).

If you don't it may place the files but id does not install properly.

Yep - That's where it went.

The setup says it found it in that folder.

I do have V9 on the same machine so I'm curious if something in the Registry could be causing the problem.

Odd. I can't reproduce with the problem with the latest version of it. The default installation directory is your Mastercam X folder, which it retrieves from a string value called "Directory" here:

HKLMSOFTWARECNC Software, Inc.Mastercam X MR1-SP2

Previously, it was stored in:

HKLMSOFTWARECNC Software, Inc.Mastercam X

Of course, if you have two Mastercam installations and one of them is in a different location (Ex: C:MastercamX), you can select that one.

I have Admin rights.

The problem is clearly a poorly designed demo distribution.

I get the message "Installation Problem - Program will exit".

The title of the message box is "MP".

How about checking the conditions that cause this error?

Quite honestly, I'm not that interested in testing the product any longer.

The fact that a professional setup for a useable demo is not available speaks volumes.

I'll stick with the X+ setup .

It worked perfectly from the beginning.

I'm sorry but in all my dealings with Dave and everyone from In-House they are an excellent organization.

If someone chooses not to pursue a product that is obviously their choice. A simple thanks but I'm no longer interested is quite sufficient. I just think the obvious slap in the face was quite unnecessary.

Kudos to Dave and all the people at In_House for all they do.

Frustration gets to all of us. As John stated Dave's stuff has worked great whenever I used it. If I run across a problem he is always more than willing to help sort it out. I love the html setup sheet. I know guys like jmparis also use it. When the frustration passes give it another shot. You won't be disappointed.
