Machine Question

we recently re-ground our spindle on a Haas VF-OE mill and I want to know if there is a way to re-set our tool change/home postion on the controller rather then doing so mechincally. Cause the change in height is only .070, and I've had the changer drop 2 tools so far cause the changer is not lined up perfectly. If anyone knows anything on this that would be great ...

It should be parameter 64(tool change offset). There is a formula you will have to play with. I have done this before and it isn't to bad. Just a little trial and error.

yeah it was ... one of the guys in the shop "thought" he knew what he was doing and the end result was a 4 inch face mill taking a half inch cut at 3800 RPM and F35. it was a good one, snapped the pull stud and the tool rolled over the drive dogs.

 

and I looked up the parameter and the vaule i get for parameter 67 is (589000) and im not sure what unit that is ...

I used the tried and true trial and error method to get it adjusted. I would just hit e-stop as it was going in for the change and see how much it moved then adjust that value as best I could then try again.
