NEGATIVE SPINDLE SPEED

I started a new job and pulled in a tool from another job I previuosly did.

The tool is a left handed endmill.

When importing this tool into the current job it put spindle speed as -6000 in the dialog box.

I have never seen this and was wondering if this is a bug or something to do with the machine def?

The tool was brought in from a job that used the same machine def.

The tool has CCW as spindle direction.

I think it's just a way to let you know about a "negative" spindle direction.

Try picking any regular tool in your operation, right click it to edit and check ccw for spindle rotation. It'll change spindle speed to "-".

I used it once sometime ago on a large cutter and I think it posted right.

When posted I get S6000 M04

I just have never seen a - in the spindle speed before.

I can't see why it should be either. The CCW gives the M04 not the -6000?

If I change the -6000 to 6000 when I go out of the toolpath then go back in it has changed itself back to -6000.
