Intro to 3d toolpaths

Im new to mastercam and still learning it. Im just starting to get into 3d tool paths. I am trying to machine a 3d contour and when I create it it doesn't lie on the cplane. Should I use the curve contour or face toolpath?

 

Any suggestions about 3d toolpaths will help

Sounds like you need to create a new CPlane to bring it to where you want and then select the toolpath.

 

I'm not sure what you mean by Curve Contour Or Face Toolpath. By Curve contour I assume you mean Toolpath - Contour and selecting a 3D curve. Those are both very different and I dont see one as a substitute for the other.
