Short USB cable to prevent SIM breakage in laptop

I've searched the board for this, as well as Office Depot, Staples and Future Shop. I have seen the small retractable USB's but would like to know if anyone has a source for a 4-6" long factory molded one to prevent a SIM from getting snapped or even damaging the laptop. I'm thinking in the cramped conditions of a plane or other situation that this might be good to go.

I use a small adapter that has 4 usb plugs on it anot 4x1.5x0.5 inches with a 2 inch cord. I think Belkin makes it a bit mor then just a cord.
