Good Afternoon everyone

I thought I remembered reading in the past about a c-hook that would load a set of default levels in Mastercam Mill X. I did a search but didn't have any luck.. Does anyone happen to remember this thread or have such a critter?

Thanks for the help

Have a a great day

Al

Does this work just to prename levels that you are going to use for drawing? I import assemblies as a Parasolid and I was wondering if there was a way to name the imported levels automatically? It would be nice to have a way of making a level name the same name as the part in the in the native file... Top Clamp Plate, A Cav, ETC. We Use V9 and I have no experience using c-hooks for anything. I would Appreciate any suggestions.

AFAIK, there is not. It's actually a vb script that accomplishes the level naming, but if you can some how get a layer report out of your native software program (ex. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc...) in a CSV (Comma Separated Values) Format, you can just dump that into a file, the in the script, link to the CSV file and you're there.

I agree with James here, if you can figure out how to output the original Levels name list from the base CAD and save it as a .csv file, then that using the VB script would be importable into MCAM.

Otherwise, no, MCAM will not read the level names out of the original file.
