What I use Comb Views for is to bring arcs into a flat plane if they are not in a flat plane. AutoCAD in the past has given me entities out of plane so I use this feature to straighten this out.

Not something I use on a regular basis but when I need it it sure is nice.

Happy New Year.

I understand the XZ/ZX/YZ yadayda stuff but the help file Sates

''Choosing the Comb view option from the Screen menu combines all parallel views into a single view and moves arcs from the parallel views to the single view.""

{{{Are the saying Named veiws or flat ortho veiws ? }}}}

{ Parallel views are those Cplanes that exist in the same two-dimensional plane (XY, XZ, or YZ) but differ by rotation or position. This option is useful when you translate files from other applications and want to reduce the number of different views in order to make editing the geometry easier'''' confused.gifconfused.gifconfused.gifconfused.gif

An example of how Comb views can help:

Draw a circle in the top view, change your cplane to 4 and draw another arc beside the first one.

These 2 arcs look identical. But if you use a view dependant toolpath like Auto-drill you will see that the first arc will be drilled from the top and the second one from the bottom.

Run Comb views and it will set both arcs to the top view.
