mr2 hsm %stepover (possible bug)

under hsm core roughing, the default for stepover percentage is 45% if I change it to 70% it uses 70% of the old tool not the one I've just selected.

ie, when I select the path it opened up using a 1/2 ball nose. I selected an 1 1/4 bullnose and I changed the stepover percent to 70% and it changed the numbers to .15 and .35. should have been .5 and .875

has anyone else noticed this?

I have found that HSM fills in the stepover or stepdown value to a percentage of the tool(either 10% or 45% depending on toolpath type). If you change this value and happen to re-select the tool the value will revert to that percentage of tool. Or if you switch between raster and scallop you will loose the stepover value that you entered. cuckoo.gif I would prefer that Mastercam just keep the values that I entered and don't mess with them.

If you finish the operation, generate the operations, reopen, then it will allow you to use the selected endmill. You then have to regenerate the toolpath. I know it is a pain, but it is the only way I have figured out to get it to work properly. The easy way is to manually figure your desired step over and enter the the percentage until you get those values.
