  1. Unfortunately David, the lead in and outs will work different for HST rest roughing than the old rough rest toolpath. We have passed along your request to the appropriate decision makers.
  2. Nickelback, if you can upload the part to the ftp site, we can take a look at it. It will also be helpful if you let us know what version of Mastercam you are running. As far as the message you are receiving, your curves may well form a closed boundary, but they might not intersect fully with the surface you are trying to trim. Good things to check (just to be safe) are if you are trimming in the current view, make sure your curves overlap the surface in that construction plane. If you are trimming to the surface normal (at least in X) you will be able to specify a maximum distance from the surface that the curves may lay. If you are having trouble with one option, try the other. Those would be the first things I would check without having seen the part.
  3. Oh yeah...solids. The project points to surfaces functionality also works for solids. When it prompts you for for a surface, you have to press the "Activate solid selection" button on the general selection toolbar, then you can pick the solid. You will have to click end selection twice in this case. Thad, point #1 is true.
  4. Jim, we merged this functionality with the XForm->Project function. You can select the points you want to project, then when the dialog pops up, press the surfaces radio button and you will be prompted for the surface. In re-reading J. Keilman's post, this might be the function he is looking for.
  5. Sorry folks, it seems I lied to you. The default setting for the output feed move will be read from the General Machine Parameters. There is a tab on the dialog labeled Op. feed rate limits / axis motion that contains a group box labeled Toolpath Feed Rate Limits. The output feed move will be initialized to the value defined as Maximum feed/min. Please be careful when modifying these values so you do not end up with a broken machine definition.
  6. No, sorry. It is on the schedule, however, and we hope to have support for them soon.
  7. Bruce, you will want to create a new defaults file with a more appropriate value for this setting. If you have any questions, please refer to the help topic "Creating a new toolpath defaults file". From there, there is also a link to "Editing a toolpath defaults file", which is quite helpful.
