yes, of course the multitooth threadmills are faster. but if he is just doing one hole in brass and doesn't have a 56 pitch insert laying around, the single would be his best bet.

again, IMHO. biggrin.gif

Thread sizes are given with geometry to the thread in mind. It is true to say, if you need a 1/56 you must use the tool made for the job. Usually, when we do threads, depending on the tool, we do three to four passes with a finish break to clean the apex of the thread. If we have them the best tool i find is a four flute Thread Hob.
