Boundarie creation for surface progs

Hi everyone

Im just starting to use X

Is there any functions to automatically create boundaries besides

1. Offseting the contour

2. Offseting surfaces the radius of the cutter you are using and creating edge curves. Then squashing chains and deleting curves you dont need.

3. Manually by multi line (sketching).

4. Chaining directly off the job

90% of the time I'll use centre of tool for boundrie containment.

Are there other ways that boundaries can be created or is there some automatic features

Hi

 

Using Moldplus, you can create 2D part edges(projected as splines, lines OR lines and arcs to a set Z height) or 3D part edges (splines or lines) to create the boundaries for your surface models.

 

Once that is done, you can use the Mastercam offset contour feature to create the contours with the desired offset for your 2D contours.
