Since you have Moldplus, you could also use Junction Surface, Link Edges and close the hole in 1 click. The Link edges will make a closed link of any open boundaries (if they can be closed).

How are you creating your geometry for the Curve 5ax tool path? Adding additional control vectors to the curve could help. Note that Moldplus software now offers some interesting tools to easily create your curves and vectors for Curve 5ax toolpaths. Recreating the geometry and redoing the path with the controls we offer might help you resolve the issue.

Using Moldplus - you can create 3D part-edge curves OR 2D part-edge curves on a desired plane. No need to create all edges of all surfaces. Please contact your local Mastercam reseller for more details.

Hi Using Moldplus, you can create 2D part edges(projected as splines, lines OR lines and arcs to a set Z height) or 3D part edges (splines or lines) to create the boundaries for your surface models. Once that is done, you can use the Mastercam offset contour feature to create the contours with the desired offset for your 2D contours. Please check with your local Mastercam reseller for more information regarding Moldplus. Regards

Hi With Moldplus (add-on for Mastercam), you can perform Draft Angle Analysis. In addition to analysis, the surfaces are also trimmed using the analysis angles if needed. Works in Mastercam 9.1 Regards

Hi Please note that there is no feature recognition from CATIA V4 files. Therefore, no drill features (reamed and tapped holes) will be marked when importing the CATIA file. CATIA V5 files however will work. You can still set the reamed and tapped holes using the Set Features functionality of ProDrill. Any questions, please contact your local reseller or email the file to [email protected] with the type of drilling work that needs to be done. The more the information, the better. Also, if you did review the ProDrill Quick Start Guide, you should be able to use the software to give you the results you want. Regards

Hi You could always do this without the need for creating edge curves, un-trimming, etc using Moldplus trimming functionalities. The Zone Split function or Plane Trim will do exactly what you are looking for. Regards

Hi Moldplus uses a different CATIA translator source in comparison to CNC Software. We released our product recently (just a few months ago), in comparison to CNC Software that has had the product out for a while. Based on when you purchased the translator, CNC Software's solution was probably the only one available and that is why your reseller recommended and sold you that solution. We have provided a solution for importing CATIA V4 data into Mastercam for many years. We do not deliver a product in the market unless we feel confident that it is reliable, cost effective and gives you the results you are looking for. That is the reason why we waited this long to provide a solution for importing CATIA V5 data. We will continue to stay current (providing solutions as fast as possible) for the versions released by CATIA V5. Check with your reseller and fellow Mastercam users on our background and commitment to providing quality solutions. Also check with your reseller as to when you will have V14 support for the CNC Software CATIA V5 translator. They may not be too far with that. Regards

Using the CATIA V5 translator from Moldplus, we automatically identify tapping and reaming features and mark them to be readily processed by ProDrill. All drill forms will be optimally processed. Hi Thad We dont have a Moldplus version that runs only in demo mode. I would encourage you to contact your reseller - Axsys to find out what's new and get trained on the product. There are a lot of new features in Moldplus 9.2 that are worth learning about. Hi I use a Dell M60 with the maximum specs - The Quadro Fx Go 1000 card with 128 MB RAM, Centrino 1.7, 60GB HD and 2 GB RAM, etc. Other than the disadvantage of being a bit heavier than its other competitors such as the IBM ThinkPad with the ATI OpenFire GL 128 MB card and similar specs (and 2.2 lbs less), this is a good investment. As mentioned before, Mastercam works better with NVIDIA cards than ATI's. Pricier also without a doubt, but Mastercam and Solidworks run fine on it. If you need it for Solid modeling or surface modeling and 3D machining, worth it. Regards Anbu
