o/t lathe question

I'm programing a lathe with live tooling and using a bar puller. The part has a 1.062 slot on each side. And then is cut into 2 pieces with a 1/8 endmill and parted off. My question is when I orientate the spindle with M19 and feed the bar puller on and open the chuck jaws pull more stock, the spindle moves some back and forth. So on the next part the slots aren't lined up. The lathe doesn't do this when you push the orientate button when in handle mode and open the chuck jaws with the foot pedal.

Should there be some other code in the program?

It's a Viper lathe with Fanuc control. Not sure what series, I'm at home now.

Thanks to anyone who might know something on this.
