Surface Contour crash

I have a file on the FTP site called rear_aluminum_hat_v2.mcx, in the MCX folder

If someone could please have a look at it I'd appreciate it.

I have a rough and a finish surface contour toolpath. The finish will not finish generating a toolpath. It crashes every time.

I have lost two days over this.

As an interesting aside...I saved the file as a different name, deleted all the toolpaths, created a finish contour surface toolpath and it works fine.

 

I had tried to send it to ver 9, and got a toolpath allocation error. When I went to increase the toolpath allocation size I got another error.

 

Where would I change that perameter in X?

You sure under finish contour parameters the "Total Tolerance" you want that to be .0001"

 

Just a question. i know on my system it locks up also but when changed to .001 it works fine.

Not sure...

Used those numbers on Ver9 for a long time with no issues. I'll give that a try.

I use a tolerance of .0005 and 2:1 filter never had a crash with it.

I never use filter. It will cause surface imperfections when you are looking for a polish free surface. Tool files end up stinking huge though. Yeah dataservers.

Do u not use it for roughing or is it just finish toolpathes u dont use it?
