Have you guys noticed if you create a new toolpath group and then try to rename it to the same name but upper or lower case it will not let you.

"Group Already Exists With Same Name"

You need to rename it to something different, THEN go back and change it to what you want.

Mike,

You can handle how you want your default toolpath group names come in by using the naming feature that is available. Then you won't HAVE to rename.

Settings << configuration >> tool path manager

...actually, I berlieve it's a mastercam functionality problem.

You can do this to files/folders/pretty much everything in windows or almost every other windows based program I've ever used. I think its a throwback to older MC days where everything in MC was created/viewd as upper case...MC will still convert to all caps automaticly when creating all its own files and within the View/Operation Managers (for the most part)... there are some things slowly being converted to case sensitive...

still waiting for the day when all things withing MC are case sensitive...

I've run into problems before trying to rename something by just changing the case and got the same error. It wasn't in MC. I thought it was when renaming a folder but I just tried it and it worked. headscratch.gif
