im tryig to up date my mori post from v9.1 to X. after doning that the post is not out putting any z values in the program. help...

Did you run the UpdatePost.dll chook to update? If so my guess would be your machine definition is not set up corectly.

yes i ran the updatepost.dll.

Look through the error log for any errors.

 

If there is nothing apparent in that or your post your reseller should be able to get you right

Is this a lathe post?

 

If so there may be an issue with the view mapping. Prior to X Lathe NCI coords (Z,X,Y) where output to the NIC file different than Mill (X,Y,Z). SO in Pre X posts, you had to map milling coordinates to lathe output.

 

For X all coords are output to the NCI as X,Y,Z which causes means you now need to map all coords for a Lathe Z,X output.

 

Updatepost does address this issue if the mapping codes in your post is based of our default V9 lathe posts. If not, then it will require some user modifications.

 

If this is the case, there will be no errors in the update post log or PST file. I'm leaning this way becuase of this statement.

Same thing happened to me. I had a v7 vintage lathe post. I decided to start with v10 mplfanuc post and modify it to my requirements rather than mess with the old post. It takes some effort but is not too bad.
