That really depends on how different the 2 MD/CD's are. If it is plain jane 2 axis stuff you may need any modification at all, is it's aclose all modifications will e able to be made. Also if the ops/defaults files are extremely different it may bark about the that as well

You could also copy your Libraries (Tools, Ops, Defaults), MD,CD, and Posts to the new machine and then update the MCX file pretty easily. We store our Libraries, Machines, Controls, and Posts on a network server. This allows us a great deal of freedom. Any one of our 20+ programmers can work on anyone else's job. What is it you need to accomplish?

A copy of your machine and control definition is stored locally within the part file. This should allow you to move a part to another Mastercam workstation and transfer the required machine and control definition information. The tools used in your toolpaths are stored in the machine group, also within your part file. A copy of the post processor is not stored within the part file, so that would be the only file you would have to manually transfer to the other computer. Now you should be able to make modifications to your MCX file and run the post processor.
