Solids selection

I was woundering if you apply a surface rough pocket toolpath and use solids selection and select all solids(the whole model even parts you do not intend to machine)will it increase computation time for the tool path,or will it just look at the features that are in the containment boundary?

I select all solids then use containment, I dont really notice a large diference from selecting only solid faces being machined

Not sure about solids, but is dose look at all of the surfaces when not useing solids. I can cut my process time in half if I just select the surfaces I need. I work with very large models.

+1 to only selecting the faces you need on large models. If you select the entire solid, it does add to the calculation time. If you want to speed up the calculation time of your toolpaths, make sure you have a good toolpath memory allocation setting, and disable the "display surface/plane intersections" check box in the configuration file.
