Transform roll-unroll

Anyone have any experience using this function? We are a rapid prototype stamping company and I would like to use this for flattening our 3d geometry so we can laser cut a blank then bend it up. We do not have the "unfold" c-hook and was wondering if by using transform - roll/unroll we might be able to accomplish the same thing. From what I understand, some of the other cad systems have unfold commands to, but I've heard they don't work very well unless the bends are straight and fairly geometric in nature. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

The xform roll feature will work if the

geometry is rolled onto a radii or you want to unroll the same. Exactly like rolling doe with a rolling pin,and the doe sticks to the pin.

As far as I know that is all it does

Chook ------Flatsrf.dll (you will have this one)It will untrim then flatten one surface at a time.

If you must do mutisurfaces at once , I am not aware of a Mastercam feature for this. But of course there is a way and if you need it, IT will be the hardway in the ====How would I??????? thread.

Good luck
