Hi everybody,

I saw the video of file tracking and tried to sought out how to use this feature.

I create one file and gave few toolpathe to it and save the file as part1.mcx

Then I took the part1 file and delete some geom and tool path and save the file as part2.

Now the latest file is part2 and if I take the part1 file and run the check the current file under File, tracking menu ,it should give as file has been changed to part2.

Please if anybody can explain how it work.

thanks

Rakesh,

You're close.

Right now, the way filenames are tracked means that if your original file is 'part1', we'll find newer files which start with the name 'part1' (for instance part1_A.mcx, part1_rev1.mcx etc).

You can still run Change Recognition by opening part1 and then choosing File/ChangeRecognition and then selecting part2.

Thanks for your reply

I have one more question regarding this feature.

Some times I am working on big filter housing and after programming, customer send the next rev. Is with this feature we can compare the geometry and find out what are changes in new dwgs. Rightnow I am trying to find out the changes by overlaping the two dwgs.

Anyinput will be appreciated, thanks

Rakesh,

That is exactly what it can do. It makes things easy if you have already toolpathed your original drawing and then get a new rev. You can compare the two drawings using the different views and then update your toolpath geometry based on the new geometry rev. Make sure to use "Save As" after you use change recognition so that you are not saving over the top of the original in case you need to go back to it.
