X2 Saves

Hey all: I just downloaded X2, a couple of issues: sorry if they are already talked about...but. First I don't have the new quick mask available, and also (very important), I installed it by itself, and opened a file from Mr2, and ran a tool. When I went back to MR2, and tried to open the same file, I got a message that says it was saved in a newer version of Mastercam. Went back to X2, and can't find a way to save it back to MR2. Please help !!

When in X2 do a File>Save As> and click the Options button and select version 1.

Your first issue has been discussed here do a search. The second when saving use save as and tic the options button and save as 1

geometry can go back, toolpaths cannot

Ok I got the save....thanks. If toolpaths will not go back, that's not good. I never even saved the file in X2, by just opening an earlier file it will no longer open in MR2 ? Ouch.

I can open in X2, as long as I don't save I can open in MR2.

 

Do you have autosave turned on? Maybe it did it that way.

 

BTW, no software that I am aware of can open a newer file in an older version. The fact that you can save out as an older version with geometry is pretty unique
