Tool Number/head number

Hi,

 

When I edit the head number it does not change the tool number and the H and D offsets, I have to do these one by one. I have my control def set "add to tool 0 length 0 dia"

 

What am I doing wrong?

I have my tool definitions set up with my height offsets and dimater offsets preset so when I pull a tool out of my library it comes in with default H & D #'s Then I use renumber as I need and they update accordingly.

 

 

Head # is only for machine with more than 1 head

Hi John P,

 

When I bring a tool from the library it gives it tool # 237 say and offsets that match this but I want to change it to tool # 2 say. I thought you could right click on the tool parameter and edit the tool and it would change it, this does not work?

Right click on it in the op manger and use renumber tool, that will handle all 3, T#, D# H#

I think this is what you want, go to Settings, Control Definition Manager, Operation defaults, Properties, Tool Settings. Check Assign tool # s sequentially. This will make the first tool = T1, second tool = T2 etc. as the default.
