Fanuc program load question

Just bought a new machine. Fanuc Oi mate control on it. If I go to load a program, and press read, execute, I get an 086 error, DR signal off

If I send from the cam system first then press execute, I only get a bit of the program.

What am I missing.

I have a couple Haas's and can't remember ever going through this with a Fanuc

What I remember is pressing the execute button on the control, then getting the flashing "LSK" and sending the program.

I have seen this error when the wiring config is incorrect.

 

I don't have my notes here at home for that so I can't look up t he corect connections

odd thing is that it will send from the machine to the computer...

One of the jumps in the wiring circulates a signal. If that signal is not there you get your DR signal error when trying to receive. Output from the control does not check for this signal.

Ok....I have two Haas machines. I have a nul modem adaptor at the port on my computer, Goes to a 4 way box out to the shop floor. RS232 cables on all the machines. I run 19200 baud, 7E2

I have the fanuc set up to recieve the same.

We got it to receive, but still get the 086 error. But the program is there...

This ng is though, is that on the controll, there are a bazillion "Z"'s before the program.

It'll run, just looks really atrange to see that and get an error.

What the heck am I doing wrong?

Are the cables set dofferently?

are the parameters not correct?

Am I just really confused?

Sounds like you are missing a wire jump.

 

The Haas machines do not require the 4,5 and 6,8,20 jump, but the Fanucs do.

So then, am I to take the cable from my splitter box to the Fanuc, and jumper those wires together? I am assuming that one end will suffice.

I have a nine pin out of the computer. goes to a 25 pin at the box and then of course to a 25 pin at the machine

All of our jumpers are on the machine side.

ours goes,

 

2 on pc side to 3 on machine side

3 on pc side to 2 on machine side

7 to 7

 

then on machine side jumper 4 to 5, and

 

jumper 6,8,20 together.

We have met with success...

It was indeed a wireing issue. I just had to make it work so that my other machines would also work.

Woo Hoo..we makin chips now.

And the good thing out of all this is that now I know how the cable for my new Daewoo lathe needs to be

No I didn't. I been stuck here making chips. I wanted to but I think if I bought another machine anytime soon, I'll get my butt kicked.

I am expecting the Daewoo to get here in a day or two. The chip conveyer and coolant pump and the 5c and 16c noses are here already

I heard that they have a couple nice machines on the floor over there though

that means pins 6-8-20 are n0ot jumpered on machine side.
