Cutter comp error

Goodmorning everybody,

I am getting "cutter comp not successful" error when I draw a .501 dia hole and contour it with 1/2 end mill. Leadin/out-everything unchecked except at entry and exit-perpendicular length is .0005

As I remember I evengo smallerthan this for some reasson in ver9 and never have the alarm for copm error.

If i go for circlemill it work fine.

What is the sol.

Your leadin/leadout is the likely culprit

 

Hole size and tool size are too close to allow a lead-in/lead-out move

Interesting, I tried your example and it works in V9 and X MR1 but not XMR2 or X2. I will send that into CNC Software.

 

Circle Mill is the easier alternative or when using contour, create a point in the center of the circle. Then in the leadin/out set line/arc to 0 and turn on "Use Entry Point"

Same parameter I try again now in v9, there is no problem.

Atleast in my shop we use lot, where we need very small move to tool even less than .0005 for adjustment purpose and never have the problem in v9 but x2 is giving problem and there is diff way to get out from this situation like change to circle mill etc. but the question is why the x2 does not take it.

Here is the "fix"

 

Go to the Control Panel and under the Mastercam X selection, set Toolpath Support to "Use old offset"

 

Looks like the new way does not like short leadins.

Hi Rakesh,

 

The "use old offset" changes which algorithm Mastercam uses for contouring and offset contour. CNC is making changes to enhance the new algorithm, but there are still a few bugs to work out.
