Beak entity at lenght in MC X

Just made the jump to version X been pulling out my hair trying to fing thing in it.How do you break an entity at a set lenght and how do you break an entity at mid point I can't find it any were.

edit >> trim/break >> click the trim to point button >> click the line you want to trim >> click space and set the distance

To break at midpoint

Trim/break,

Select "Point" from the left buttons.

Then "Break" from the two buttons on the right.

When you move the crosshairs near the midpoint of the entity it will put a box there. Click the box.

 

I forget how to do "At length"

Check in your documentation folder for whatever X version you have. This is an extremely helpful tool.

Thanks right after I posted it I found out how to do it. It's going to take some time on the new version for me so far I do see there are a lot more clicks with my mouse then before.

Are you trying to trim to a point?

 

After you click trim to point button, click the line and then the point you wish to trim it to.

I found the answer in this other thread. I wasn't using a negative value so it kept extending the line.

 

I got tired of creating extra geometry and translating it to my break point, so I finally took the time to figure it out.

 

I was trying to break at length. The V9 function map was not very helpful at all on this one.
