4 axis post

Dear, Gentlemen!

 

My company has just bought the vertical Okuma machine. I'm using MC9 and I have 4axis post. Does MC9 have anywhere to specify the rotation angle(B axis) in order to post B axis out? Even though I set 1 in vmc and 2 in rot_on_x of the Okuma post.

 

I'm really stuck on this. I appreciate your help.

The B-axis rotation value will come from your Tplane.

For example programing using the Top TCplane is just like any 3-axis Vertical mill. Now leave the WCS set to Top but use Right or left Tplanes and you will get a 90 degree rotation.

funny we have all our rotations set on the A axis

 

anyways like David had said you need to program to your orientation on your machine ..ie indexing, cutting on the rotation etc

I tried and It didn't work. Some reasons it didn't post out the B axis. And I don't see any field to input the B axis angle either.

Because you said B axis I assumed you where rotating around the Y axis.

 

If your rotating around the X axis use Front and Back planes to rotate 90 degrees, Bottom Tplane should give 180 degrees.

 

Unless your machione tool builder has set the X to rotation to be a (, in thereory it should be an "A" like Jack suggested.

HN ...I can send you some examples in the morning of MC9 files that we use on our 4th axis...tis a 550vb Okuma ..this might be some help...if you click on my avatar..you will get my email address

We use A axis for our rotation but im sure we can change that easy enough if your machine parameters are set for B
