Toolpath chaining problem

I'm trying to do a pocketing toolpath and it won't chain. It wants me to select every entity in the chain. This is happening if I try to contour as well. I checked for duplicate entities and there are none, I also checked for overlapping entities and found none. If I do general selection and chain the geometry it works fine. Any other suggestions.

Is the Cplane or 3D switch set to 3D? This would cause the cahin to stop at all branch points if the wireframe has connecting entities that go in different directions. Try switching it to Cplane and chain it. That should give you a complete chain without stopping at branches. HTH

John do you have the constructiona and toolplance set to the same? I have problems with chaineing when I have a construction plane chained somewhere.

All planes set to top. Hardmill did it somehow. I'm confused. Not that he got it but for some reason I couldn't

It happens to me when the geometry is on a level thats off and then when the contour or pocket selection window is up and you turn the level on it doesnt chain.

Real tough some times.

 

Hardmill, it's taking about 12 minutes for your email to get here. Must be slowing down at the Iowa "can and strings" connection

FYI,

 

It was because of the way the chaining mask options were. I disabled the color mask and it worked. When I enabled it again, it didn't work.

Ah, so...

 

You were trying to chain everything by color mask but everything was the same color. Now I see. Thanks for the clarification John.
