depth of cut value

I have four different lathe controls here and there is one sl-65 that will not run a decimal value in the depth of cut(D.075 will not work) it must be a whole number(D750).

How can I have it post without a decimal?

I am using X2 level 3 mill and level one lathe.

I found and changed the value from 2 to 4 but now it just posts out a "D0" for the depth.

My goof, I gave you an integer format, you'll only get whole number

 

a .0625 or .075 will only get 0

 

give a mintue and i'll hunt down the correct fmt

 

try adding this to you fs statements

Not being sure which post you are using that is listed as fs 22

 

check your list and change the 22 to be after what ever your final fs is. If you have fs 24 listed make the new one fs 25 and then change it the same way as I noted to change above to the new fs staement

I could not get it to change anything by adding this code. I tried just having the fs2 24 and just having the fs2 25 lines and I tried it with both. no change still a decimal.

if you already have fs24 and fs 25 in the post but not fs26, make the line I posted fs26 instead,

There was no fs25 line, I added it.

No I hadn't changed the u 2 to u 25.

I just did it and it works now.

Slightly off subject... But who got the idea to make canned cycles that don't use decimal inputs for certain values? Is there a real good reason? This has always bugged me.

Old style NC machines did not use decimals they could not understand it so everything years ago was long code to the machine's accurracy. So if you wanted .1 you most times put 1000 and the such so in reality the decimal is new to machine tools not the other way around.
