  1. Thanks Tom! Most tool paths were there just missing a bunch of drill points. Very much appreciated!
  2. Just sent them Thanks for helping!!
  3. Just getting them to V8 or V9 is a problem. Been way to long since I have used or had either. BTW. just tried MCX5 which is as far back as I have here and it will only go back to V8.
  4. Hi Guys, I have some old jobs that have come back and everything we have is in MC7! How can I open these in MCX8? I actully have MCX6 installed too. Please let me know what I can do as reprogramming all this old stuff would be a killer since it was a production part that was all dialed in. Thanks, Ken
  5. Sorry guys but I had to do some actual programming. The self proclaimed expert is NOT!! He passed it on to his higher up and they said NO! They are not helpful and wont even answer basic questions for me. I have pretty much just resigned to saving in PDF using Adobe. The format is perfect. I am able now to edit and save. Its not like editing in word but it is much easy than screwing with our other set up sheets. I am hoping at some point Mastercam will understand the serious need for a workable set up sheet for people who do not understand the way all the office files work and do not have time to learn it. I guess maybe im just missing something. Why are we the only guys posting this thread? Does everyone else have it all perfect where they dont have to mess with it? Do they just settle for 90% and thats ok? Very frustrating. Has anyone seen the AR in X7? Is it improved?
  6. yeah! me too! You mean the self proclaimed expert? I think the real expert will be the one that actually designed the AR as it currenty is for M-cam. I am very happy with the PDF editing we are doing. Using the AR and Adobe is working well. It's leaps better than our old way of fumbling around thats for sure. It an still be better and ever bit of time we can save is just money in the Bank! So we are still looking to Fix the AR. I will let you know
  7. yeah it works very well. takes a little time to convert but it does format it so you can edit. I still have not heard back about the AR? I guess those guys ever there make enough money already!
  8. File size seems ok to me. PDF = 349 KB (358,052 bytes) CONVERT TO WORD = 231 KB (237,012 bytes)
  9. I did download the trial. it does convert it very closely. I still needed to tweak a couple things but works very well. It did take a long time to covert tho and it was just 3 pages. the excel convert wasnt even close. Still thinking for now my new PDF skills are far quicker for me.
  10. Cool, Im looking at it right now. So it recreates it in word EXACTLY?
  11. you know I was having a bad time with Adobe but a quick overview from a co-worker that works in quality gave me a huge boost! Its as easy as inserting in word. I only have adobe 8 on my CPU and have seen the things done in the new version. I think this is very usable. The page format is really stable. The page stays exactly the same as the AR makes it which is perfect for us. I am actually ery happy with the way PDF is working now. I havent checked Nitro yet mainly because im swamped and was waiting to hear back about the AR. I will let you know when I hear back. They dont seem to be very helpful.
  12. The HTML into MSword is very time consuming for me. I dont have the document skills to make it do what Rocheey does thats for sure. I did just discover a whole new world or edit options in Adobe PDF. I think this is a good option for us at this point. Im still going to get the update to AR from Component One if they will do it. But for now, PDF master, become I must!
  13. IMHO Component One is missing out on a lot of revenue here. they have the closest thing to user friendly set up sheet software that I have come across. Its about 95% there. I was using Word to open the HTML that was created by the X+setup sheet. I was able to get it to work pretty well but still a lot more time than the AR. Interested in how you are doing it Rocheey1
  14. I will definitely post back, If I do not hear from them this A.M. I will call them back. The guy I talked to didnt seem to know too much and was going to pass onto someone else. These guys at Component One are the ones who know all about the AR Designer and the files to control the output and how it looks. We are are willing to pay them here to make it happen. We need to streamline our set up docs badly. Too much wasted time between to many programmers spent screwing with set up sheets. So frustrating. We will get there tho.
  15. I will have to check out Nitro. I know the AR can be fixed to When we save the RDF as a word doc. It matters how word opens and formats from some instructions in a file ( a .dll?) and I think the word template can be altered to open it in a better format. However that just sounds to easy. wish i knew how or what to do. I will post when i figure it out! Thanks for posting back what you found.
  16. That sucks, I was hoping for some better news. I am having simalr issues and can get the RDF to come out perfectly, just the way i want it. as soon as I save to word or excel. bye bye formatting. I cant use a set up doc that i cant edit and up rev. i have some contact going with Component One and hopefully they are going to help us here get it all working the way it should. At least they know about the software so I think they should be able to help. I followed your earlier link to their site. thanks. I will post when i get a response.
  17. Great to have you stop by Mike. What did you think of IMG? Some pretty trick stuff going on. At least it keeps me on my toes, slacker that I am .
  18. "Do you guys offer relocation assistance. What kind of work do you do, what machines do you have, How many machines. What's the pay and hours ? " We are doing all kinds of different work right now. Areospace, Defense, Solar, Gas and Oil, Semi-Conductor- etc... Pay is DOE and is very good. You could make what has been talked about on this thread if you are good. We could help relocate for the right person im sure. We run 3 shifts. Days, swings and weekends and have about 50 machines. From very large to small in capability. Check out our website: www.imgprecision.com/#1 And yes the home prices just 15 minutes away would blow your mind. I live in tracy 17 miles from here and My drive is SWEET!!
  19. We have had it happen several times. ARRGH! "It's BRUTAL and it's onyl going to get worse in the next 5-10 years." Worse for companies better for those who can do! Maybe I should be doing the same thing! "HAVE TALENT, WILL TRAVEL"
  20. Well we are looking for good people if you ever want to check us out. I know you have a lot of choices over there and this it would be a drive for you. I keep hoping we will pick up a some guys who are commuting from the central valley over the altimont pass to the east bay. With gas thru the roof, we are half the drive time and we pay very, you'd think we could attract some talent. Most times tho if you're any good you are already working and they will try to keep you if you quit. Lately guys will come for an interview, accept the job, go back to give notice and then get offered more to stay. Very frustrating.
  21. yes we are right down the street from the Lab. do you know IMG?
