MastercamX in Control Panel

In the Windows Control Panel I have a Mastercam X icon that I double click but get an "Error - 'LasetInstalledVersion' key is missing. Running the mouse over it brings up the description "Changes properties for Mastercam X".

I have X2 installed & recently uninstalled X & X-MR2. Is this file necessary? If it's not part of X2 why is it still installed when I did an uninstall???

This just gives you some additional configuration options.

 

I would guess that a "repair" install would fix it...

 

I think you could do just fine without it though...

Ok My bad, I do have it. it was hidden by the stupid XP eye candy. When I turned it off POOF! there it was.

Mine works fine. I agree With Matt....Not very useful. However,I do turn the splash screen off from there because MC loads a little quicker.

Two other things to note about the Mastercam X Control Panel Utility.

 

1. It has an option to let you reset the dialog box positions to the default. This is very useful if your backplot dialog box goes off the screen.

 

2. It has an option to use the "new" or the "old" toolpath offset. This lets you change the algorythm that Mastercam uses for the contour toolpaths. The "old" offset is the V9 contour offset and can help when you are having contouring problems.

I have X MR2 and X2 Demo. My Mastercam X Control Panel Utility say "X2" and when I try to change something it says "error opening registry". So if I REALLY wanna change something, I have to get rid of X2 demo???
