Problem loading X2

We got a new box and I just put X2 on the box and tried to use the update mastercam and it says that there was a fatal error and update cannot continue. I remember seeing this on the forums before but couldn't find it. Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it?

X2 requires .NET 2.0 Framework

 

Mastercam X2 requires that the Microsoft .NET 2.0

turk, do you have this?

 

framework must be installed on your system for Mastercam X2 to run.

 

The .NET 2.0 framework is NOT part of the web download, but it is part of the 2 Disk installation (Disk 1).

 

There is a note and link on the Mastercam X2 downloads page regarding the .NET 2.0 download.

I am going to uninstall it and re install and see if that works. I have the two disc installation.

When I put in the X2 disc instead of showing button for "install .NET v2.0" it is grayed out and it just shows the install x2 button? Why is this?

It mean that you already had Net V2 installed in your pc.

that is what I thought but when I d/led X2 to the new box it won't allow the update to work. I am now reloading the software again to see what happens this time. I just did all this to another box not one month ago with no problems what so ever.

so now I get "mastercam cannot locate the correct version on my computer. WTF??

Re. Update Manager patch:

 

After you install Mastercam X2, go here...

Download and install mastercamX2-patch001.zip

 

Instructions

This patch is issued to address an Update Manager error:

 

Download "mastercamx2-patch001.exe" and double-click on it to run the installation. Make sure Mastercam is closed before running the installation.

This is just ridiculous. I don't understand why i am having trouble with this box when the last one was easy.

 

I tried to d/l the patch and it says 1628: installation incomplete error

never mind....I am a moron..I have installed and uninstalled so many times now that I thought X2 was there and it wasn't. ooops!!
