  1. I have gone through my reseller and have had some issues trying to get my post to output spindle speed on the Prototrak 3 axis DPM3. I am doing a surface scallop for a spaceship like part. I have an mx3 post but like I said, it fails to generate spindle speed. Any help with this would be great since the reseller is out to lunch and this job is hot!!
  2. Ok, is this better? http://www.pcnation.com/web/details.asp?af...306&item=N27888
  3. It is Nvidia. Thanks I think. Time to do some more research
  4. Seeing how you lost me with the VGA vs DVI....I need help. I have a Quadro 1800 in one and a 1500 in the other.
  5. Any suggestions as tyo which KVM switch to go with? I was looking at this http://www.kvms.com/Product/EXT-VGA-422.aspx
  6. So the Nvidia Quatro 1800 does indeed have two ports?
  7. Jay you lost me a bit. I am using the Dell 22" monitors. If I run a dual monitor KVM switch I just hook them both up to that right?
  8. Yes, I was thinking of using the KVM switch that supports dual monitors...but how do I hook them up? Just run the monitors to the KVM switch? And will the graphics card be bogged down by the dual monitor set up?
  9. Ok, I have two computers. One that is an online comouter for email, the other is our new programming box. It is offline. I have two new Dell Monitors. I curerently have one monitor run to each box and use a KVM switch to bounce the keyboard and mouse from one to the other. I would like to run dual monitors on each box, that way I have a bigger window to use Mastercam in..plus..it is just much cooler. I have a Quadro 1700 in he online box and a Quadro 1800 in the new box. What else would I need to accomplish this so that I can have dual monitors on each box other than a dual monitor KVM switch? I hope I stated this clear enough. I am not a computer genius but know enough to get in trouble.
  10. Got rid of the temp files and re ran Benchtest #3- 1' 03"
  11. Hmm, what temp files? Where are they located? What I did was I re-opened the drawing and did not save the changes. Then I made the appropriate changes and regened the part.
  12. Just shut down Solidworks and re ran the test and hit 50 seconds.
  13. 1 MIN 28 SECONDS Dell Precision T3500 Intel Xeon W3503@ 2.4GHz 6 GB RAM Windows Vista 64 NVIDIA Quadro 1800
  14. I ran the uninstall and for some reason the folder for X4 was still there and I did not notice it. I deleted it and ran it again and all is good. I guess I will just continue to rebuild my config file upon installing a new release. Thanks guys
  15. An error that was associated with the chooks/zip2go As for deleting the install files..I am unsure as to what you mean. I used the CD to uninstall MC and the did a regedit to delete the CNC software folders.
  16. Thad, I had X4 on the old box. This is the reason I just copied them over. We have new offline 64 bit workstations so that is why I am switching over the software. I am going to try and strip it again and reload but I have done it twice now with no luck
  17. I am installing X4 on my new 64 bit box. The installation goes smooth. I opened it and things went great. Then I took my config folder, posts and Machine Defs from the other box and dragged and dropped the files in the new 64 bit box. Now I open MC and I do not see any toolbars other than the MRU and ribbon bar. I tried to repair an install and that did nothing so I stipped it, went into the registery and got rid of the CNC Software folders. I then reloaded it and I have the same issue. I need to load this on three new boxes so I am working with mine first. I do not want to do this to another new box until I have the issue solved. Also, I get an error upon opening that has to do with the Chooks, the zip2go to be specific.
  18. I am trying to install X4 on my new 64 bit box and I end up with no toolbars and when I tried to go to tool bar states it shows nothing to load.
  19. I am getting the same issue. I am running X3 MU1 and the swdocumentmgr info as as follows: 5.92 MB created June 20,2008 I tried to un reg and reg the file but to no avail. None of the SW files seem to open on his box but mine open fine. Also, due to being on a government computer..I can't access the FPT site
  20. Thanks for all the help guys. Look like we are getting three of these exact same boxes. I do have a space Navigator (they would not pay for the pilot) but I don't know if I can talk them into dual screens but I have been trying. We do not do a ton of CAM work. My job is a model maker so I do everything. I am a manual machinist, CNC machinist, CAD designer, CAM programmer, sheet metal guy, welder, water jet operator, etc. I wish programming was my full time job. I really want to get into a shop where I can work with other programmers and learn the proper way to do stuff and learn more about speeds, feeds and 4th and 5th axis.
  21. They are looking at purchasing the following box for me. I was wondering what you guys thought of this. It will be for SW and MC. Dell Precision CMT Standard Power Supply Windows Vista Business 64 Dual Core Intel Xeon W3503 2.40 GHz 4M L3, 4.8GT/s 6GB, 1066MHz, DDR3 SDRAM, ECC 768 MN NVIDIA Quadro FX1800 C1 All SATA drives Integrated Intel chipset SATA 3.0Gb/s controller 250GB SATA 3.0Gb/s with NCQ and 8MB DataBurst Cache 16x DVD +/-RW w/Cyberlink PowerDVD
  22. yes it does and it will take some time to get used to using. I currently have one and am finally egtting used to it and not losing my part off screen! lol
  23. I input all via .cam and seem to have zero issues.
  24. I need to create old english font letters on an arc. When using the "create letters" it does not allow this font to be put on an arc. Is there a way around this?
