Misc Integers

I am having some trouble getting my misc integers to work. Basically I want it to execute some certain code when I have a '1' in the Misc Integer 3. Unfortunately it always puts the line into the G code. I am no sure what I need to do to get it to work. I have attached the code from my post and the output I get when I run it.

Here is my coed in the post

code:

ptlbrk          #Toll Breakage Detection

if mi3 = 1, pbld, n, "G65", "P9863", "H.010", "Z3.0", "(TOOL BREAKAGE DETECTION)", e$

if mi3 <> 1, "OOPS! - mi3 is NOT equal to 1", e$

prv_mi3 = mi3

!mi3

Here is what it outputs

G65P9863H.010Z3.0(TOOL BREAKAGE DETECTION)

OOPS! - mi3 is NOT equal to 1

Thanks for any help

the variable should be

mi3$

secondly depending on where in the psot you use this call, you might be better off in the toolchange section doing something like this

sav_mi3 = mi3$

and then using the sav_mi3 variable to trigger your code.

If you get to far down in the post cycle it seems to lose the value of mi3$, setting to a diiferent varaiable lets you check it at any point in that particular OP with losing the value
