Engraving issue.

Im trying to engrave, but wherever the bit come down and goes up, there is a bigger engrave right at that spot. It doesnt look right. Its like the bit goes deeper at those sections and its on all fo them. I was just wondering what the plunge rate is and if thats what i need to adjust...Please help, thanks

Is it possible that the tool tip you are using can't go to the depth you programmed at some points on the geometry? Or is this not the issue? I may be missing it.

Check your z depth setting, make sure it's set to zero and incremental. Then I use my offsets to set my depth.

Actually....I fixed the problem, but now i just want to know how to slow the tool when it go down everytime. Im doing it manually right now, but its annoying...I know theres a way, but not sure. Thanks...

Your going straight down on the Z?

Can you perform a zigzag z depth approach from a certain height above the part like no greater than .100. You could try 3 degrees.

On the toolpath parameters page of your contour toolpath set the plunge feed rate to 1/2 of your feed rate.This will give a reduced feed rate for the Z-axis moves into the job.

Try using project if it is on a surface.

I just finished this up today. I took the customers JPG and turned in to vector and projected on to this curved surface and its pretty constant.
