086/"lsk" error on fanuc 0T controller

Recommended Posts

I have a Fanuc OT control on a lathe,I am having a problem with the communication..I can send the programs fine but when I try to receive .It blinks "LSK".

The computer thinks that it has taken it fine, but the machine did not take the program..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.......

I can still send programs to the mill Fanuc OM controller and I used to be able to send to the lathe fine yesterday. The only thing I changed was I opened cimco edit with the newest version of mastercam X^2 and not mastercamX mr2.

It has always given me an 086 error but sent the information, the mill has as well. My parity is set to even whatever that means and was set that way when it was working yesterday, do you still think it would be that setting? Is it a setting I have to compare with the particular fanuc controller and its settings?

I know a guy that gets that alarm also on one machine (out of three), but the program loads. He just hits the reset and goes on with the setup. The blinking lsk shows up as the program is loading and will normally quit when the loading is done but I'm not sure if the blinking quits after an 086 alarm.

I tried using the RS232 cable from the mill on the lathe and it still gives the same problem. We called machine electrical and they suggested it might be the port as well. A guy from machine electric is coming to replace it or configure the other port wed, until then I will try and keep troubleshooting the problem.
