Alibre Direct

Any chances of Mastercam coming out with a Mastercam Direct for Alibre 3d Cad direct, or possibly Keycreator direct any time sone. Alot of people that have Mastercam have Keycreator, as we do. We use our Mastercam for designs, but we would like Assembly, BOM and a easy way to change 3d Geometry capabilities. We are not to experienced with the change reconition in MCX2, but we have tried it and we are not that impressed with it.

This sounds good! Will this be MC direct for Alibre like that for Solidworks, Inventor, and Solid Edge? What is the expected Release date?

Clarification....

 

In X2 MR2, you will be able to open MCAlibre part files (.AD_PRT & .AD_SMP only).

It will work similarly to how our Inventor and SolidEdge importers work now - it'll only import Solids.

 

There are currently no plans for a MastercamDirect for either Alibre Design or KeyCreator.

 

And...

 

KeyCreator solid import is planned for X3...
